THE STORY

Era Nocturna was formed in 1999 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Daeva Stark while she was attending the New England Institute of Art majoring in multimedia/audio engineering.

After finishing her first demo EP "Prelude" in 2000, Dae relocated to New York City and continued to record.

Between 2003 to 2007 she completed work on the instrumental album "De Profundis" which had tracks featured in various short films and art presentations.

After returning to her home state of Massachusetts, Dae began work on the follow up to "De Profundis." At this time she collaborated with  Richard "Dr. Ohm" Wahnfried of Heavenly Creatures on the tracks "All Goes Away" and "Black Rose." Richard became an unofficial member of the project when he took on the role of engineer/producer for "Lackluster" which was completed in 2009. "Lackluster" was followed by a limited edition remix EP entitled "If Only Remixes" which came out in the same year.

In 2010, Dae hired on several musicians and began performing live with Era Nocturna and spent most of 2011 to 2012 performing to audiences in the New England and mid-atlantic east coast of the US. The limited release "Halloween in June" featuring exclusive demos and remixes was released at an event of the same name in June of 2012. In November of that year Era Nocturna performed a final time as a group before disbanding due to various creative/personal differences.

In 2014, Dae was approached by Unable Distribution to sign a distribution deal, Dae elected to re-issue "Lackluster" under a new band name to avoid professional conflicts. "Lackluster" was re-titled "Digital Scars" and released worldwide in digital format. That same year  Dae released another limited edition album entitled "The Way Back to Madness" which included leftover tracks from the recording of "Prelude," alternate versions of songs from "De Profundis," "Lackluster," and other works previously unreleased.

In 2017, after a near five year hiatus from recording all music, Dae found her way back to her roots, deciding it was time to resurrect the Era Nocturna name and begin recording again. Richard  joined the project as a full-time member and both are currently working on the new album entitled "Void."

In addition to working on Era Nocturna, Dae collaborated with singer/songwriter Melissa Dori Dye from 1997 to 2007. She has also appeared as a guest vocalist for a number of artists including, but not limited to the above mentioned Heavenly Creatures ("Black Rose" and "All Goes Away"), Channelpain ("What Goes Around"), Finkster, and Clues Lead Left ("Goodbye Horses"). Additionally, she performs as a session bassist, has worked as a freelance music journalist for several magazines, a band manager and event promoter, hosts a podcast called “Hellhouse” with Leaf Pile Radio, and occasionally makes appearances as a DJ for various events. Dae currently splits her time between London and western Massachustts in the US.

Richard still composes and releases music with his project Heavenly Creatures and also works as a professional audio engineer/producer in Paris, France.
